Five Star Bank is dedicated to providing leadership and support for the many communities we serve.
The primary focus of our corporate charitable giving program is “Children and Education.” Our goal is to support not-for-profit organizations that foster education and development opportunities for children of all ages. By focusing our giving on such a specific area, we believe we can make a more significant impact in the communities we serve.
Five Star Bank supports a variety of youth oriented programs. We annually sponsor youth athletic teams, recognize youth organizations as part of our annual branch events, and we contribute to schools in our communities for various activities as well as scholarship programs that have supported hundreds of children in our market area.
In addition, Five Star Bank supports a wide range of social health and welfare programs, including donations to the United Way and its affiliated organizations. These donations range from monetary donations, gifts and savings bonds, to in-kind donations of staff and administrative support for community events.
 Our S.T.A.R. Volunteers Program, an employee driven volunteer group, provides every one of our employees the option to work one day—fully paid—to volunteer in the community of their home or branch. The S.T.A.R. Volunteers Program provided over 4,00 hours of support since its inception in 2007, to various community activities including Camp Clean up Day at the YMCA Camp in Silver Lake, building playground sets for Community Action Committee, as well as participating in the Day of Caring with the United Way. Our branch staff contributes to the financial education of local school children through various banking education programs such as Teach Children to Save Day as well as through volunteer efforts with programs like Junior Achievement.
At Five Star Bank, our contributions are designed to support organizations within the neighborhood of each branch. Due to the volume we receive, we ask that you submit your request to only one branch; the one which is closest to your organization:
Please submit your request in writing to the Branch Manager and allow us at least 3-4 weeks to consider your request.
We do not allow outside solicitation without prior approval.
Please note that an organization can apply only once per year for funding.
We cannot make donations to individuals. We directly support the organizations that help individuals in need.
Unfortunately we cannot support every worthwhile endeavor. Support is directed to organizations in the communities where we serve and can have the greatest impact in support of our funding objective; priority is given to “Children and Education” services.
Five Star Bank is proud to support hundreds of organizations in the market we serve, including various scholarships, and United Way support via employee and company matching contributions. Five Star Bank employs over 600 people, many of whom serve as volunteers as well as trustees, directors, and advisors on boards for over 300 community organizations.
