Deposit Account Opening SMS Terms & Conditions

Please read these Deposit Account Opening SMS Terms & Conditions (“SMS Terms”) carefully. By enrolling or otherwise agreeing to receive text messages from or on behalf of Five Star Bank, you are providing your express consent to receive periodic support text messages from Five Star Bank (each, a “Text Message”) sent through an automatic telephone dialing system hosted by our third-party service provider, and you agree to these SMS Terms. Data collected from you in connection with any Text Message may include your cell phone number, your provider’s name and the date, time and content of your Text Messages. Five Star Bank may use this information in accordance with its Privacy Notice, which is incorporated herein by reference, to contact you and provide any services you request from us. Our mobile Text Messaging services are optional, and your consent is not a condition for any purchase or for you to open an account with Five Star Bank. Text Message services are provided on an “AS IS” basis.

Five Star Bank sends Text Messages if requested for various purposes including:

  • Opening an account
  • Verification of an authentication process
  • Authorization of certain transactions
  • Financial alerts

Message Delivery and Rates

Five Star Bank does not charge for Text Messages, however, message and data rates may apply. You may be subject to standard messaging and data fees from your carrier according to your mobile messaging plan. Please refer to your plan details for more information. Under no circumstances will Five Star Bank be responsible for any text messaging or wireless charges incurred by you. Your wireless carrier is not liable for any delay or failure to deliver any message sent to or from Five Star Bank.

Opting Out of Text Messages

Text Messages Sent when Opening an Account: When you open an account, we may send text messages to you to facilitate the account opening process. These messages may ask that you provide information necessary to complete your account setup. If you stop responding to these messages, we will assume that you no longer wish to proceed with the account opening process and will cease sending you any further messages

All Other Text Messages: Your consent to receive Text Messages is completely voluntary. You may opt out at any time. To opt out of Text Messages text STOP to any Text Message you receive from us or contact us using the Contact Us information below. You acknowledge and agree to accept Text Messages confirming your opt-out. You acknowledge and agree that texting STOP to any Text Message you receive from us will serve as an opt out of Text Messages only. It does not serve as a company-wide “do not call” request.

For help related to our text message program, reply HELP to any Text Message received. You agree that when you initiate a text message to our text message program, you may receive related Text Messages in reply.

You verify that any contact information provided to us, including, but not limited to, your name, mailing address, email address, and/or your telephone number, is true and accurate. You verify that you are the current owner of any telephone number that you provide. You are strictly prohibited from providing a phone number that is not your own. Should any of your contact information change, including ownership of your telephone numbers, you agree to immediately notify us before the change goes into effect by texting STOP to any Text Message that you have received from us.

How Five Star Bank Communicates via Text Message

Account opening messages are sent as part of the account opening process. Account opening Text Messages help to facilitate the account opening process by providing customer progress notifications, instructions, and links. Five Star Bank will use Text Messages to communicate with you at your request. If you have received a text message from a phone number without initiating a request, or any message asking you to provide or confirm personal details or confidential information, do not reply.

Supported Carriers

Supported carriers may change from time to time, but are not limited to AT&T, T-Mobile®/MetroPCS, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, Boost, Alltel, U.S. Cellular, Cellular One, MetroPCS, InterOp, Cellular Com, C Spire Wireless, Cricket, Virgin Mobile, Cincinnati Bell and Google Voice. Additional carriers may be added. Mobile Messaging is provided on an “as is” basis, may not continue to work, and may change without notice. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Changes to the Mobile Terms

These SMS Terms may be updated by Five Star Bank from time to time, provided that if we update any material term of these SMS Terms, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to notify you.
